As we approach the end of the semester, the realization of graduation is hitting very hard, but I know it will be exciting for the next chapter of my life. I aim to apply for the master's program for next spring, so this next semester will be a good break to focus on working and continuing to grow my resume. This week, we had our weekly team meeting, where we discussed what everyone has been working on. I'm considering participating in the story day, but my schedule has been very hectic, especially with final presentations and essays fast approaching. We also discussed the need for a professional portfolio. Luckily, in my professionalizing history class, I already needed to create a portfolio and implement each assignment for the course into the portfolio. I can build my own website and implement my work. I also needed to create a resume and a CV for that course as well, which has helped a lot. This week, my best friend Jordan, whom I’ve known for 6 years, has applied for the public history internship for the summer, and I am very excited for him to start after I take my leave once I graduate. I know he will be a good fit!
This week, we have been awaiting feedback on our narrative texts. Therefore, I do not have many updates. However, in the next few weeks, we will begin working on our labels and revising the narrative texts that need to be fixed. I do not expect many revisions, as everyone in the group is very intelligent and wrote great texts for each of their subjects. We have also been trying to find a time to meet up as a group, look through the boxes of artifacts, and match them to the display case. We have not figured out a time to meet up, but hopefully sometime next week. The goal is not to finish as close as possible to the deadline, but with schedule challenges that might be difficult. I know as a team we will join together and figure out what to do in a timely manner.
